2022 Painting Recap!

Happy New Year to everyone!

2022 has seen a lot of ups and downs here in Shanghai, but I still managed to paint “a few” minis…

Sadly, I did not beat my all time record from 2021 of 1017 miniatures, but the grand total of 2022 still reached 815 miniatures!

Note: every miniature whatever the size counts as one, as the most famous dwarf ever would say…

Last miniatures of 2022

After moving forward with my pile of shame, I worked a bit on my Lannister Heroes 3, with only the Mountain that Rides left!

Tommen Baratheon’s Kingsguard:

I finished the year with the “Hand of the King” box version of Brienne, and none other than the Mother of Dragons herself!

My Targaryens have a purple color scheme, so I went with a purple dress, which contrasts pretty well with her pale skin so quite happy with her!

Free Folks, Night’s Watch and more

This year saw me start painting both my Free Folks and Night’s Watch factions, which were surprisingly enjoyable! I even adopted the wildlings game-wise, and really loved their playstyle…

Plus, it gave me a chance to try some snow effect, which is pretty fun and really makes the minis pop! Now I’m dreaming of a full Stannis cavalry list charging at the Wall, in the snow… (spoiler alert, that’s one of my projects for the coming year, sadly Champions are currently out of stock in China)

Marvel United

I received the kickstarter for Marvel United: X-Men, and it was a life saver during lockdown! The miniatures are really fun to paint, and I managed to paint half last year, aiming for the second half in the coming months!

Star Wars Legion

After watching the Clone Wars animated series for the first time, I fell back into a galaxy far far away, and bought a few of the Legion minis. Still did not have a chance to try the game, but hopefully it will happen this year!

The Clones are simply sprayed for now, so I have them to look forward to as well…
